So I have a confession to make...I didn't make my goal of cooking a new recipe every week.
It occurred so early in the year too.
Back in February, we had a family emergency, and had to fly out to the midwest, and since I usually wait to the end of the week try out new recipes, I could not do it for that week.
Oh well...so I didn't make my goal. But, I am however continuing on with making new recipes or trying new dishes at a restaurant every week, or almost. I'm still in school, and I'm working full time at a hospital, so I am surprised that I still have some time for my ongoing culinary adventure.
I'm still curious by nature, and with all of the food options we have, there should be no reason to not be adventurous. So to those who have been following this blog, my apologies. I do however have lots of pics to share of food that I have tried since my very last post. Plus, more travel food pics.
I will try this goal again next year, and try even harder to make that goal.
On this post however, I do have some several pics to share about a home made Chinese meal that we had a couple of months ago.
Yes, I said home made Chinese food!
Some bamboo shoots:
Beef cutlets:
And my favorite of the whole meal...spicy noodles!
And here is the presentation of the whole feast...
I was FULL and delirious when I left that night...
My husband's coworker invited us to dinner one Saturday night, and I was more than thrilled. Home made is, after all, the best.
Great recipe. I do substitute fresh salmon and serve with a spicy masago sauce. Always a favorite. It is a great recipe for leftover salmon that can be mixed with canned salmon.

It is very good. The curry does have a strong and delicious flavour but it lacks the accent that I've seen in other, This chilled salad of noodles and crisp bell peppers tossed in a sesame oil-rice vinegar dressing provides a quick side dish or light meal, my personal favourite's there are the Shrimp Tum-Yum soup, the Beef Pad-See-Eiw, Chicken Pad Thai and the Chicken Friend Rice is always a winner as well!
