Has anyone seen this?
It's a cute little can of a Mountain Dew. The perfect size for me.
See, I am trying to cut back on this drink, like drinking it every other day when it is a full can. I used to be able to get this short size of a Dew at Kroger's grocery store, but lately, there have been NONE. I must have drove to several Kroger locations, and found that this size of Mountain Dew is elusive.
These days, I find myself unable to finish a whole regular can of Mountain Dew, and when I add up all of the leftover soda that I do not drink, I estimated that I am wasting maybe a quarter of the case that I buy (whole cans of Mountain Dew that is). So when I saw these little 8 ouncers, I thought it was the perfect solution, and I don't have to worry about wasting anything...because I can easily down an 8 ouncer.
With diabetes making up at least 8% of us living in the U.S, and one of the major contributing factors of the ridiculously high health care costs, I am trying to seriously cut back on junk sweets like pastries, muffin tops, ice cream (that's the hardest one for me so far.), and focus more on eating things like fruit when I get the urge. So far, pears, plums, and globe grapes have been high on my fave's to eat. I'm getting better at it though. It's a pretty common disorder when you think about it, since I met quite a few families over the years with members who has diabetes. Two of my uncles have diabetes.
Plus, I am diligently trying to educate my dad to try to eat healthier, because cardiovascular problems runs on his side of the family...earlier this year, he has lost his eldest sister due to sudden cardiac arrest, and if that wasn't bad enough, only a couple of months later, he lost his younger brother to complications of cirrhosis, a disease common with long-time alcoholics. I can't teach him anything if I don't start leading by example. Luckily, my husband, John, who is a health nut, keeps a check on me when it comes to eating healthy. Lucky for him, he does not have to do much...I do love veggies!
So my hunt continues for this elusive smaller sized, Mountain dew. Hopefully I will find it soon.
